Assalam-u-Aliekum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
NAIF's 12th Annual Conference was held in Tampa, FL on the theme "Empowering the Imam to Empower the Youth" on November 20th-22nd, 2015. Over 120 Imams participated from all across North America. Many important brainstorming sessions took place revolving around the problems that are faced by the North American Muslim youth.
One of the core sessions was dedicated towards NAIF's administrative issues. At the end of this session, NAIF's Executive Committee had two open positions. More than five Imam's were nominated and two of the nominees were elected due to highest number of votes cast for them. In a later session, the NAIF Executive Committee held internal elections to choose the new Secretary General of NAIF, as well as elect other important positions.
Below is an introduction to the new Executive Committee who have taken on the task of representing Imams and working hard to assist them.

Message to Imams:
Praise be to Allah, and May His Peace and Blessings be upon His Messenger, and upon his family, his companions, and upon all those who follow them in goodness, To proceed:
Dear Imams,
My experience with NAIF and the choice of the Executive Committee to select me as the new Secretary General, with the support of the NAIF Board of Trustees, has truly humbled me. I do not consider myself worthy of such a position but I will do my best while I have a chance to service one of the most important institutions for Muslims in America, the institution of the Imam. I have many goals that I hope to accomplish with the help of Allah and then with the cooperation of our executive committee, board of trustees, as well as the general body of Imams. These goals include the following:
- Increasing racial diversity in NAIF and make it a true representation of Imams in America.
- Increase communication between NAIF and the Imams throughout the year as opposed to only the conference.
- Provide many more trainings and workshops for Imams to develop them professionally.
- Host smaller regional conferences throughout the year to provide a platform for Imams to unite in all the major Muslim populated regions.
- Establish NAIF as a professional organization with a strong structure and even stronger “systems” which allow it to succeed in becoming the true Imam’s Union in America.
